As we reach the halfway point in this college football season several players have emerged as legitimate Heisman hopefuls. Whether your rooting for a dynamic duel-threat QB,a record shattering RB or a one-of-a-kind two way player we'll have it covered. Let's dive into the latest Heisman trophy leader board.

1. Ashton Jeanty

Due to the historic pace he's currently on, Jeanty sits as clubhouse leader. Here are a few stats to put in perspective on just how impressive his start to the season truly is. In six games Jeanty has rushed for 1'248 yards. He has outrushed notable teams such as Penn State, Clemson, Florida State, and defending national champion Michigan.Jeanty also has the most total yards in a six-game span since Garrett Wolfe had 1,343 for Northern Illinois in 2006.

2. Dillon Gabriel

Oregon Qb Dillion Gabriel has jumped up the leader board due in part to his team's 32-31 win over Ohio State. In that game Gabriel posted a 95.9 Qb rating, 341 yards 2 touchdowns with no interceptions. Team Success along with an impressive signature victory should keep him within the top three finalist standings.

3.Cam Ward

After surviving close games against Virginia Tech and Cal, Miami Qb Cam Ward has the Hurricanes currently ranked #6 in the country. His stats are more than deserving of the Heisman trophy(2,219 yards 20 touchdowns 5 interceptions)but, not having a top 25 win does drop him down a spot in our rankings.

The Best of the Rest

  2. Sheduer Sanders

  3. Kyle McCord
