As of Week 8 in the 2024 NFL season, the MVP race is heating up with several quarterbacks leading the charge:

1. Lamar Jackson (Baltimore Ravens): Jackson is leading in the MVP conversation after leading the Ravens to five consecutive wins after starting the season 0-2. His dynamic playmaking is critical to Baltimore’s resurgence this season.

2. Sam Darnold (Minnesota Vikings): After a season-ending injury to projected starter J.J. McCarthy, Sam Darnold has stepped in and performed well over expectations. The former third overall pick has been a surprise standout this year so far, leading the Vikings to a 5-1 record. He’s been efficient and consistent, with 12 touchdowns and a passer rating of 104.0, solidifying his place on the MVP ladder. 109/164 66.5% 1370 yards 12 TDs 5 Ints 127.3 Passer rating

3. Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills): As we progress through the 2024 season, Josh Allen’s candidacy for the MVP award continues to gain momentum. After throwing for two touchdowns in a dominating 34-10 win against the Tennessee Titans, Allen looks to be in prime position to move up our ladder. His statistics speak for themselves, posting an impressive 12:0 touchdown to interception ratio, and considering the recent trade acquisition of WR Amari Cooper, it'll be hard to convince MVP voters not to vote for Allen if his quality of play stands.

4. Jayden Daniels (Washington Commanders): As a rookie, Daniels has been a surprise, leading the Commanders to a 4-1 record. His dual-threat ability has turned heads, and while he's a favorite for Offensive Rookie of the Year, he's also climbing the MVP ladder.

Patrick Mahomes, Jordan Love, and Brock Purdy are also in the mix, but the top four are setting the pace as the season progresses.
